Hide the AirTag on your bike and you can get it back if it’s stolen. The bicycle seized on the 4th of July in Boston was allegedly seized by the police.

In this case, the AirTag was removed and discarded. Fortunately, the bike was found nearby. Thanks to the mount and reflector, the Device Therapy Bike Mount AirTag actually attaches to the bike.
Can You Use Apple’s Airtags To Find A Stolen Bike?
This accessory is basically a cylindrical AirTag holder made from plant-based bioplastic. It opens with a screw-on lid and the tracker fits snugly inside. The reason you use the AirTag bike mount is to hide the tracker on your two-wheeler so that almost any iPhone can find it over a Bluetooth connection. And then that iPhone will automatically (and anonymously) tell you where your lost/stolen item is. So if your bike is forced, you can find it later.
But there are a couple of caveats. Apple’s tracking system depends on the iPhone coming close to the AirTag. And the Bike Mount & Reflector itself reduces the distance a bit, since the wireless connection has to go through the bioplastic housing. In my testing, I was able to establish contact between the AirTag and the iPhone from about 75 feet away in the Device Therapy bike reflector. That’s down from the usual 100 feet or more. Walls further reduce the connection distance.
Also, if the thief has an iPhone himself, he will eventually be notified that he is being tracked by the AirTag. Apple created a system to find lost things, not stolen ones.

Most importantly, if you are notified of the location of your stolen bike, do not attempt to retrieve it yourself. Talk to the police. Use the experience of the guy from Boston mentioned earlier as a guide.
It’s a simple product, but it does exactly what it’s designed to do. You can easily attach the AirTag to your bike and have a firm hope that a thief will not notice the tracker.
